History

The history of Cyprus is one of the oldest in the world and dates back to the 7th century B/C. The arrival of the Mycenaean Greeks at first, followed by the Achaean Greeks has given Cyprus the typical Greek character. The Island has four major cities, Nicosia as the Island’s Capital, then Larnaca as the Island’s main airport, then Limassol as the Islands main seaport and with Paphos as the Island’s youngest and fastest growing city.

Paphos

Paphos enjoys the best climate and has the majority of archaeology on the island. With the nature reserve ‘The Akamas’ at its doorstep, Paphos has become the most interesting town. The People of Cyprus are a mixture of many trading nations in the Mediterranean. People are open, frank and friendly to foreigners. They are astute businessmen too. The island has several International Schools and also Paphos has a high standard at the International School in the city. The main religion on the island is Greek Orthodox. Cyprus is a member of the United Nations, the Council of Europe, the British Commonwealth and also a member of the Non-Aligned Movement. Cyprus is Member of the European Union
